Happy Anniversary!

The community is 1 year old today. At ARM TechCon 2013, the ARM Connected Community transitioned from being a B2B-only marketing partnership programme to1_Year_Anniversary_Stamp.png what it is today - a vibrant, interactive community that addresses developer needs.

Whether you are an SoC, system, application... developer, you now have a channel to reach ARM experts and provide your feedback, as well as a place to find a variety of ARM-related blogs, white papers and  tutorials. You also might have noticed that Brad Nemire has been publishing presentations from ARM TechCon 2014 as the organiser kindly authorized us to - these will be very useful for visitors and members. The presentations and their content will be searchable in the community, along Partners and members. So, before you ask a question, you might find that a talk addressed your particular need in details!

A Few Numbers

Within the last year, the ARM Connected Community welcomed more than 6,600 registered members  who have created more than 7,500 pieces of content! The content you created generated more than 26,000 engagements in the community (content revision, replies, likes, comments...) - keep in mind, this doesn't include sharing on social media and any dialogue occurring on them.

Finally, more than 50% of our ARM Partner companies claimed their transferred space within the first six months of the community launch! We now have more than 600 active partners in the community.

Room for Improvement

Engagement has significantly increased compared to what it was before the community, but we can do much better. We have a high number of "lurkers" or silent readers and having more members participating would be beneficial for everyone.

We are also working to be able to give you more code examples/ snippets. The first replies we received on our 5-minute survey already highlights this wish. In order to prioritise improvements, please take a few minutes to answer the survey - it will take you less than 5 minutes and will allow us to provide content and features you would like most. If you don't feel like completing the survey and you've never posted anything, consider commenting on this post.

Upcoming Changes

We have talked about the homepage changes for the last month. Unfortunately, we met some technical challenges and team illness, which means we haven't been able to roll them out today. This should be done next Sunday!

On Sunday, we will have a maintenance time when the community will not be available - I will need to restart it a few times. We will start the work at 11am UK time on Sunday, 2nd November and it is expected to last a few hours. We will remove the banner from the homepage when normal service resumes.

On top of the changes to the homepage and group overview pages, we are upgrading some plugins we are using to translate the user interface.

Thank you all for you contribution and your feedback during the first 12 months.

Let's aim higher for the next 12!
